So handy
I saw this product from some social media post and thought it was a little gimmicky, but decided to give it a go, and im glad I did! gimmicky it is not, does exactly what you think it does, and does it well. When marking locations to drill overhead, the head of this spray can helps center itself in what ever hole you want to mark and leaves a nice visible green indicator mark of where to drill, it has easily replaced using a pen to mark holes as in my opinion, I am more accurate with this tool than a pen in a handful of scenarios where this has earned its place in my tool chest.

This product has definitely made my job easier. Not only is this easy to use but it’s so accurate on marking the spot where you’ll need to drill a hole. I definitely recommend this product.

Very good tool for very specific situations to have around. It’s a great marking tool in awkward areas where your pencils or fingers cannot reach. Not a tool I use every day, but it’s definitely convenient to have around.

Great for marking holes with highly visible green color
Works as expected. This is great for marking drill holes on all types of surfaces with a neon green chalk spray. No mess, cleans up easily, great if you have your hands tied up and only have 1 free hand. Would definitely recommend. They come in a variety of colors as well. The product also has a twist-lock mechanism so it won’t accidentally spray or discharge.

OMG, where was this all these years!!!
This is effn AMAZING!!! trying to mount stuff to brick that has a deep hole you can’t get a marker into is no longer an issue!!! I thought it looked cool when I searched after fighting with a flood light install and didn’t expect to use it for a while… but I ended up getting some ring cams and this was perfect!!!Worth the money 100%!!! Only negative it sometimes it sticks and is hard to engage the “safety” but even with that it’s 5+ stars!!!

The description is right about this being a tool you’ll never go without after you start using it! I especially like the high-vis color and one handed reliable marking through holes.I used this a lot replacing drawer slides in my kitchen. Worked great!

I kid you not, this seems to me to be the most underrated tool that I need more of in my life. I have purchased two of them they make mounting panels VERY EASY! I have always had really thick panels with DEEP mounting holes and this will shoot a little bead of actual chalk that more that 2 inches. I promise, and I swear by these things. Whoever invented this needs to meet me now. Thank you!

Great product
As an electrician , I work with alot of items where a pencil will not reach into the hole to the wall , so this works extremely well , super compact and easy to use so I just keep it on me at all times , the bright green assures I don’t lose my mark , it’s got a safety lock so it’s not going off in your pouch , just great overall.

Not great
I got this to mark holes when installing ledgers and supports for cabinets and countertops. I work alone, so sometimes you need 3 hands. I got the chance to use my ChalkShot the other day, and I was less than impressed. Granted it marked the holes very well. The marks were clear and easy to see. The issue came with repeat markings. The first shot was great. The second was nonexistent. After it set for 3 or 4 seconds, it was good to go again, and marked perfectly. The third shot, again was nonexistent, until it set for a few seconds. Then it was good again. Maybe I received a dud. I don’t know. I do know that having to wait a couple of seconds between marks is far from convenient. I know that there is another brand that manufacturers the same item, so I may be giving that one a try.

I would give this five stars if it were to come with 2 cans of spray. Other than that, this is an excellent tool with many possibilities.

I hang all kinds of things on smooth and rough surfaces as a general contractor. This is the easiest marking tool I’ve ever used. I wish I could find it in other colors as I sometimes have a tough time with green. This thing is worth its weight in gold to me.

Extremely Useful
I bought this some time ago and have used it relentlesly, it has not failed me yet. I’ve used it on metal, plastic, fiberglass, and concrete. All it is is chalk powder, in the cases whith plastic where it might shoot a little more than you’d expect, you can just wipe the excess once you’ve drilled the hole necessary. Well worth the investment.

Easy to use! Unlock the barrel, place your item to be mounted in the correct location on the wall, put the tip in the hole of the item to be mounted, press the barrel – presto, a perfect green dot on the wall surface where your screw will go! DuraMark ChalkShot is just AMAZING! WHY didn’t this exist BEFORE now??
With DuraMark ChalkShot, it’s remarkably easy to “shoot” a small florescent cross (“X marks the spot”) through any small hole; OTHER hole markers won’t fit through small holes or aren’t bright enough — but THIS ChalkShot is awesome! Use it to mark mounting holes in just about anything, EVEN on the CEILING (as with ceiling fans/lights or HVAC ductwork grills.** IF shooting up, just make sure you first point ChalkShot downward and either shoot once or shake to get powder loaded in tip before shooting UPWARD for EACH shot. I’m SO glad I just HAPPENED to come across this product on Amazon, as I can’t find it elsewhere!

Great little product and I like the way it works but it’s very expensive. It works out about six cents per mark. Product originated in the UK and sells for about six dollars there, so does it really cost an extra nine dollars per unit to bring it into this country?

Great Idea
I have been using this on wood and metal and it works great. It will transfer the hole location in the size of the actual hole. It does not transfer a center hole. It is great for what it is supposed to do. For a precise center hole transfer you will need a center punch. I am satisfied and use it often in the shop.

Great tool, but the ink/ compression doesn’t last long at all.
Great thing to have when you really need it, would be a much better product if you could get a bigger can of paint or maybe refills. Very over priced for one item in only opinion.

Easy to use, accurate spray point, spray dries to a powder quickly. I wished I had these years ago when i was in the metal fab shop. Great tool, hope it lasts a long time.

Not as good as it sounds but still can be useful.
Even if the cartridge is shaken before trying to shoot a mark, on two units i often get a very weak first shot and absolutely need to do a second shot to get a decent mark. Even then it’s usually not amazing. I don’t know if i got two lemons which can be up to the seller but if I’m taking at least two shots to make a halfway okay mark.. we’ll if this states it can do roughly 250 shots that’s more like 125.

No instruction but does serve the purpose of a chalk marker
No instructions on how to use this. Had to figure out by almost breaking the nozzle. Pushed so hard left a mark on the shelf I was mounting. Figured out you have to twist the top. It is child proof.
