Great to have just in case

While it’s not something I use every day, this is a great tool to make the host tool much more versatile when you do need it! Works great for me. It seems built to my occasional need for it. This model is lightweight and price-conscious. And, works great for my uses.

  2. Jeff tarr

    Great for tight spaces

perfect for those hard-to-reach spaces that can’t quite fit a drill. Great quality and metal construction. Highly recommend

    Must have

Helped me out big time with my rough deck construction especially when setting railing posts between joists spaced 12” and any blocking in tight spaces.Worked well with an impact drill and 1/4” diameter Spax screws. Transferred the power well.

  7. Johan Oosthuysen

    Well made Dewalt quality.

Excellent tool. Made to get at those hard to reach screws. Pleased with my purchase.

  11. Alexander Gamler

    Awesome tool

I’m a Milwaukee guy but this 90 bit is better

  12. Bob Tassan

    Works ok

Bought this to get to screws on the back side of a 4×4 post. Adding a bit makes it a bit longer that I had hoped but still got the job done. Learned that ya gotta hold it firmly or it will try to spin.

    Works well

Let’s you drive screws even in tight spaces. We’ll built but needs to come with better instructions as it can be a bit confusing to figure out how to use.

  14. Amazon Customer

    fantastic item

    i love everything about this

  15. Edgar Ochoa

    Good quality

    Small and well made

  16. PeterJ

Well made device. Works well with secure connectors.

The item is fairly small but will effectively transfer torque through a 90 deg. angle. It is able to do this without excessive vibration. However, for my purpose, (and I would recommend to DeWalt) that a way be found to provide a handle mechanism for the head of the attachment that will allow for the better positioning and stabilization of the tool (something like the handle that fits tangentially near the head of power drills). This would help with countering the natural rotation the attachment has when in operation which would better allow the user to focus on the application of tool.

    READ REVIEWS FIRST

I do not regret my purchase, but like other reviews have mentioned, this is basically incompatible with other bits. If you look at their images, the standard bits become almost impossible to remove. But, I ordered this on a whim – I knew a right angle attachment would be useful, but man it has been such a help over the week I’ve used it. From car repair to furniture assembly it has been a delight,I wish there was a way to keep it from rotating, and a stronger magnet would be nice. I’ve had sockets fall into my engine bay ( darn it ) but other than that, complete joy.Hesitant buy again, with the issues noted.

    Outstanding!

This driver knuckle is shallower than my older Dewalt. And magnetized! Great mprovenent!!!

  21. MichaelMichael

    Awesome tool

Having trouble getting into tight spaces with your impact driver or drill? This will certainly help. You can use it with or without the extended head and it’ll make your life easier.

    No chuck

I wasn’t paying enough attention when I was looking for a right angle DRILL attachment. That is, being able to DRILL at a right angle. There is no chuck to grip a drill bit. It requires ‘specialty’ hex shank bitsThat said, my bad. I haven’t used it yet it but appears to be nicely made and heavy duty.

  23. Michael Frederick

    Impact ready and versatile

I work on cars for a living and wanted a versatile add on for my impact and this fit the bill! It’s well made and has endured abuse without slowing down or breaking. I even ordered a second one for home. It’s well worth the money.

  24. Silverback

    Tight spots, low torque

I bought this kit to add a mounting hole to my rear strut towers so I could run a suspension from another car on mine, since parts are no longer available for my car.It worked well until I got through the metal, when the steel wire in this adaptor kit got twisted up inside itself. It was the only way to reach the spots I was going for, so I made due but be aware it will try to break your wrist. So grip very firmly. For wood working or household projects, this kit is an absolute must-have in your tool bag. There are multiple attachments for varying lengths and angles, also a handy handle for keeping everything steady while drilling.Excellent price for a kit that will help you avoid numerous headaches when you’re working on tight quarters.

    Great tool

I do hvac for a living and this is the best 90 degree Chuck I’ve ever used!

Be sure and use impact bits

Worked great getting into tight spaces.

  27. Grant Bulley

    ok with impact driver

Used this to drive 100mm bugle screws into timber in a limited area when building a retaining wall. Was concerned this wouldn’t last with impact driver but after 40+ screws no sign of damage. i did break a bit and was concerned about the end out as the holder has a powerful magnet but found the small hole opposite and managed to push the broken bit out without much drama. think you got this one right Dewalt!

This thing is a life saver

I originally bought this tool thinking it’s one of those better to have it than not to type things and I was certainly right. This thing saved me on a roof the other day when I had to install a top con screw at a ridiculous angle. To my surprise it worked like a charm and the fastener held perfect. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has to work in tight spots that a standard drill just might not reach!

    Not what we needed

It attached to the drill and drill held it. However, this bit was too thick for what we needed, couldn’t accomplish the job (we were using it to install window safety bars). We missed the return window, which was on us, but a shame.

Nothing special, but gets the job done.

This is one bad a** heavy duty accessory that fits on my Ridgid (or any 1/4″ hex drive) impact !!!

Heavy duty. Typical marketing hype says flex attachment is 12″, and it is end to end, but when you insert it you lose 1″, so when in fact it’s inserted, it actually extends your working length 11″. That’s important to someone looking at total extensibility / reach. Now the head is designed to mount up to the flex extension directly and lock into place. This extends your working bit out to about 13″ at 90°. Both head and flex attachment are magnetized, so you could use the flex extension as a direct extension of your impact or drill, whichever you’re using. DeWalt say’s it’s only to be used with impact power tools, but we all know they’re just covering their butt legally and some folks use these attachments in power drills as well as …God only knows what creative types will come up with. There are two handle attachments included. The 4″ with the head mounted to it puts your bit out 5″ from the impact tool. It also gives you a nice 4″ 4 finger grip to hold it. As well, this setup can be inserted into the flex attachment on the quick if you need to extend it for 1 or 2 items real quick. The second handle in the pic is misleading as it actually has a plastic mount attached to it so you can attach the handle to the back of the head and lock it on. It can not be used with any other attachment. When you insert the head into your impact directly, it gives you the ability to hold the head in place from twisting if your using a socket or bit on something that requires an excessive amount of force, pressure, or torque, or to keep it stable drilling into whatever. The handle itself is threaded and removable so you can screw it into the other side of the handle-head-mount for you lefties, or if you need to invert the bit to work upside down or in an odd position._My ONE COMPLAINT! — ARE YOU READING THIS DEWALT ENGINEERS?!?The little strait handle must be unscrewed 1/8″ from the mount in order to fasten it to the head, then screwed back in. The head is not perfectly round and it seems the engineers overlooked this. The nub the strait handle screws into is too short to fit the handle at the point it goes on before you turn it to lock it onto the head! Both sides engineers!_DeWalt ENGINEERS need to take this small handle-mount part back to the drawing board. Otherwise a fine accessory.BTW, the head is 1″ wide and adds 1.5″ to your inserted bit length. The actual horizontal head width is 1.25″ fwiw. The flex extension is stout and holds it’s position without sagging while your busy doing other stuff. It will be in the same position when you come back to it. Mount the head on it and push the yellow button under the word DeWalt on the side of the flex accessory handle, slide it forward and attach it to the head. Now you have the same 4 finger grip at the end of the flex accessory as you did with the other handle!Like my title says, “This is one bad a** heavy duty accessory that fits my Ridgid (or any 1/4″ hex drive) impact !!! ” This 4-in-1 is built with commercial grade materials and the professional in mind, but made for all who want it. I only wish I had gotten one years ago! Enjoy…

    Very Versatile

For years I’ve been carrying around a cordless right angle drill in my drill/driver tool tote, which along with a parachute bag full of a range of deck screw sizes gets rather heavy. The addition of this accessory for the most part eliminates the need for a right angle drill and lightens my load some at the same time. Discounting the fact that this doesn’t have an adjustable chuck and only accepts 1/4 hex bits, this accessory group is actually quite a bit more versatile than a right angle drill that is about 4x larger and doesn’t have the ability to “snake” with a flex shaft. While I don’t have a whole lot of time in using this, and probably won’t as it’s a very specialized tool, its construction seems to be up to handling just about whatever you’d throw at it short of a 3″ hole saw. The variety of ways it can be set up is interesting, although I’ll say its optional side handle seems more of a toy than a tool even though it’s probably adequate enough. I’ll likely add a set of hex shank drill bits to my tote to take full advantage of this but everything else from screw bits to nut drivers will fit it so I don’t see its chuck as much of a limitation. Upon removing it from the package I used a little quality penetrating spray lube on the moving parts and they all seem to transfer power very smoothly. If I didn’t already own a right angle drill I probably wouldn’t after purchasing this.

You think you don’t need it but then when you do…

This 90 degree attachment is one of those things you have in your tool box just to have in case. It makes working in tight areas where the drilling or screwing needs to be easy. You don’t have to be a contortionist to get in those areas. Yeah, I might rarely use it, but when you need something while you are working on a project this will save you a trip to the store and help make that job that much easier.

  34. Jmatt

An extremely useful little impact driver attachment

Excellent to get into those hard-to-reach places where you can’t get an impact driver. Most recently I used it while installing a new bathroom vent fan – there was only about 1.5-inches between the old fan box and a ceiling joist brace. I might have been able to get it with some long extensions, but this was MUCH easier. The only problem I encountered is that it’s a bit awkward for driving fresh screws: you need about three hands. One to run the impact driver, one to hold the screw, and one to hold the right-angle attachment.

    Worked Great!

Needed to use this to drill into a tight wheel well with stubby drill bits and it was impressive to say the least!Very easy to position and hold and spun the bit quite robustly…went through everything it needed to without any issues whatsoever. Glad I bought it! Exceeded my expectations.

  36. jbrew2001

    Very well designed

Please excuse a little bit of a rant.I can never understand why people would complain about well thought out features that greatly enhance a product without taking the time to figure out how it works. This product is a perfect example. When using a stubby bit, it sticks out just enough to slip on a screw head. The screw is held very nicely by magnets. This arrangement Allows working in the tightest possible spaces. With any right angle attachment the driving torque is at right angle to the screw, so it is necessary to hold the driver with one hand and hold the right angle attachment with the other hand. Having the screw held on by magnetism is an excellent feature – your third hand. The complaints about removing the bit from the tool are groundless. Simply take one of your screws and poke into the hole in the back of the tool-head and the bit will pop right out.All of these features are well thought out to make the tool easy to use and able to fit into a minimal space. I can’t even imagine the frustration I would have trying to place a screw in a tight area without the magnetic holding feature.I spent the extra few bucks for the 2 in 1 version and I’m glad I did. It has more uses for sure.BTW, the build quality is very good, and it easily handles impact driving. I expect to use it a lot for a long time.

    LOVE THIS GADGET!!!!

I like doing DIY, but found myself in a pickle when installing some new lighting hardware in my covered patio – not enough space for drill to do it’s job. I looked at several youtube videos and recommendations before deciding to purchase this particular brand. Tool has made installation in hard to reach places a breeze!!!! I did have a small learning curve holding more firmly while using, but not a problem. I do not have an expensive cordless drill or famous brand, but this works great. I have recommended to countless others – just love it.

  39. Chuck Slayton

Not as good as the Milwaukee version

This thing is great except the bit doesn’t stick out far enough, you have to use one and a half or two inch bits. The Milwaukee version is much better and it’s the same price

  40. Volt19

    Great but, chunky

Why haven’t I had one of these forever? This little guy is incredibly handy. The only negative thing is it is chunky and is sometimes hard to fit in tight areas. Otherwise, it’s a great tool.

  41. okwoodworkerokwoodworker

Good small size. Hex bits only – not a drill chuck.

From the pictures in the item description this item looked larger to me than it actually is. That’s good! I don’t need a big attachment getting in the way. The magnetic bit holder is very powerful – great for holding the bits securely while you work. Just in case you are thinking about using this with standard drill bits, think again. The right angle attachment itself will fit in your regular drill chuck, but the end where you put the bits only accepts 1/4″ hex bits. If you have drill bits with hex bases, then you’re in luck. If you have just regular drill bits, they won’t fit. You’ll need to find a right angle drill chuck instead.

    Great time saver

I have used this tool many times for drilling or other means of tight or right-angle locations. The tool seems to accept torque from the drill without any complications so far. It is sturdy, with the socket end securing bits tightly.

  43. Rick S.

    Saved the day!

This little guy, when used with a very short drill bit, saved the day! I needed a very short drill/drill bit combo to drill into a broken exhaust manifold bolt that had broken off in the cylinder head of my truck. This bolt was in the back of the driver’s side, real close to the firewall. Even my right angled Ingersoll pneumatic drill was too big. This little guy mated to my battery powered drill got the job done. I used slower speeds, so can’t speak to high rpm usage. A little getting used to how to best hold it, but that’s the nature of it. I’m sure this will get me out of other binds in the future!

    DEWALT 1/4” Right Angle Adapter

I’m writing this review after just receiving the three piece kit with the flex shaft. I was thinking it would be a light duty adapter but am very impressed with the weight and heftiness of the head and flex shaft. Common sense tells me it has limitations with the type of work you could do with it but it should be sufficient in most cases.

    Worth it

I’ve used it several times. After you figure out how to hold it properly, it can help in a pinch. Not gonna be a frequent use, but when you need it, you need it. Better than a smaller fixed angle adapter for sure. Heavy (mostly metal). I took lawn tractor blades off with it and my impact, no problems.

  51. Stephen

    Looks to be quite durable

I have not used it however it appears that it will work for my project

  52. Alex

I wish I had this earlier

Very reliable extension especially when it comes to drill through wall studs. The only thing I wish it had is it would be able to handle twist drill bits.

  53. A. Meller

    Must have little tool

This is an absolutely necessary tool if you need to drill or tighten screws in a tight space. If feels sturdy and convenient to hold in hand. Magnetic catch makes it easy to replace drill bits.

  54. Peter M.

Very robust and easy to fit in small spaces

This is a great product. The little side handle is a little dinky, but not really needed due to the nice primary grip. I even ended up using this with some drill bits in a hard to reach spot.

    Great tool – Buy this

The media could not be loaded.

Used this tool to drive 3 1/2″ construction screws to toenail cripple studs into place on a partition wall. Worked great with the Dewalt Impact Driver. One of the benefits that some see as a disadvantage is that when you insert a normal 1″ bit into the chuck, the head of the bit only sticks out 1/8″ (See pic). I found this gave me more working room and I could easily switch to a 2″ bit that protruded from the chuck 1 1/8″ to finish the job. Great tool and I would suggest owning one.
